Blueberry Lemonade Recipe
When I was pregnant, I would get so jealous whenever I'd go out to eat or go to someone's house and everyone got to drink fancy drinks. I had no desire for the alcohol, obviously, but just wanted something fun and pretty to sip on. That's when I made a strawberry lemonade mocktail and my love for homemade lemonade and simple mocktail recipes was born.
So the other night as I was making dinner, I had a craving for something sweet and decided to try making my own blueberry lemonade recipe. I call it a mocktail because adding fancy lemon sugar rim makes it feel just like a cocktail you might have while you're out at a restaurant.
This fresh blueberry lemonade is super easy to make, there's no boiling on the stove or anything like that, just simply using a food processor to puree the blueberries and adding it to an easy homemade lemonade recipe!
Blueberry lemonade is the perfect beverage for a hot summer day! So pour yourself a glass, kick back with some chip and guacamole and enjoy the best summertime snack and drink ever.

Substitutions and Variations
As a hint, if you're wanting to make this into a regular cocktail, you can add your favorite liquor of choice. I added about an ounce of tequila and used a cocktail shaker to mix it all together and it was the perfect Friday night drink to sip on at home. It's deceivingly light on the tequila though, so consider yourself warned 😉 You can turn this into a yummy blueberry vodka lemonade too!
If you like your lemonade more sweet, you can easily add more sugar, and if not, this blend is a pretty good mix of sweet and tangy, just the way I think homemade lemonade should be.
Both frozen blueberries and fresh blueberries will work to make a sweet blueberry puree.
How to Make Blueberry Lemonade
Add the blueberries and water a food processor and then blend until the mixture is smooth. Once smooth, add ⅓ cup of sugar and continue blending.
If desired, strain the blueberry puree using a fine mesh strainer. This will help keep sediment from settling in the bottom of the glass.
Meanwhile, juice the fresh lemons and add the juice to a large pitcher.
Stir in sugar and water until sugar dissolves. Then add the blueberry puree and stir until combined.
Serve immediately over a glass of ice, or chill before serving. Enjoy!
How to Store Leftover Lemonade
For best results, store leftover lemonade in a pitcher or glass that has a lid. Mason jars work well if you want to store individual glasses of this easy blueberry lemonade recipe. It will last in the fridge for a week or so. You can also freeze it in containers, popsicle molds or ice cube molds.
What to Serve Blueberry Lemonade
This ultimate summer refresher pairs beautifully with grilled shrimp, grilled chicken thighs, and grilled pork tenderloin. It's a favorite with our chicken burgers and oven roasted green beans.
It makes for a lovely summertime lunch with a grilled chicken salad or sheet pan chicken and veggies. Or make a tasty fiesta with some fish tacos.
Not to mention it goes well with all of my other lemon blueberry creations — lemon blueberry bread, lemon blueberry muffins, and lemon blueberry scones.
Tips for Success
Check out these simple tips and tricks to ensure this delicious blueberry lemonade recipe turns out the best that it can be:
