  • pineapple chunks
  • mango chunks
  • banana

Substitutions and Variations

To make this pineapple mango smoothie dairy-free, use a dairy free yogurt in place of Greek yogurt. You can also use a different milk if you prefer. Almond milk, soy milk, and oat milk are all tasty options to swap in place of coconut milk.

Both fresh and frozen banana work in this recipe. If you decide to use frozen pineapple and mango too, then you may not need ice cubes.

Feel free to add an extra boost of protein with some protein powder or collagen. Vanilla protein powder would be delicious!

You can mix greens into this smoothie for extra vitamins and nutrients! Spinach and kale would both work great.

If you don't have honey on hand, simple syrup and maple syrup are good swaps. If you use fresh mango and fresh pineapple, you may not even need extra sweetener!

Adjust the consistency of the smoothie by adding more or less liquid. If it's too thick, add a bit more orange juice or coconut milk. If it's too thin, add more frozen fruit, yogurt, or ice.

Tips for Success

These few tips will help your mango pineapple smoothie turn out perfect:

  • The sweetness of the smoothie can vary based on the ripeness of your fruit. Taste the smoothie before serving and add more honey if needed.
  • Always make sure you are using a clean blender so that it functions well and there is no leftover smoothie flavors from a previous recipe!
  • Add all of the ingredients in the proper order so that it blends together well. Otherwise, you could end up with clumps of fruit that have not been blended properly!

How to Store Mango Pineapple Smoothie

There are so many ways to easily store smoothies. Depending on when you want to drink your leftover smoothie, there are a few great options on how to store it.

I have a whole post about how to store leftover smoothie, but here's a quick summary:

  • Freezer: You can pour your smoothie into ice cube trays or popsicle molds and freeze it. Then let it thaw, or add it to a blender with milk and drink up! Alternatively, you can do the same by freezing your smoothie in Ziplock bags and laying them flat in the freezer.
  • Fridge: Store leftover smoothie in mason jars, or another airtight container, and give it a good shake when you're ready to drink it.
  • Freeze ingredients: If you're a fan of a fresh smoothie, you can still make things easier on yourself by freezing the ingredients for your smoothies. Measure out the ingredients for your smoothie, place them in zip-top bags or ice cube trays, and they're ready to pop in the blender as needed!

Madison's Pro Smoothie Tip:

To make sure you are maxing out your blender's capabilities to yield a smoothie with a great and delicious consistency, always load up your blender pitcher in the following order:

  1. liquids first
  2. then soft fruits or vegetables
  3. then greens
  4. then frozen fruits and ice
  5. any powders on top
