Introducing Judah Asher

Published: Dec 18, 2022 · Last Updated: Dec 18, 2022

In typical third child fashion, I'm writing this post much later than my introduction posts with our first two boys, Greyson and Camden. On August 25, 2022 at 2:32 AM, we welcomed our third baby boy at home! Like Camden, Judah arrived very fashionably late, at 41 weeks and 6 days. And by arrived, I mean was evicted as naturally and peacefully as possible. More on that in his birth story.

For this third pregnancy, we decided to keep the gender a surprise! Though we had many, many people guess it would be a girl, Steven and I were very confident that I was carrying another baby boy.

At birth, Judah was 8 pounds and 2 ounces and was our longest baby yet at 22 inches! My labor with him went from peaceful and painless to intense towards the end, at about the 9th or 10th hour of labor. He was born almost exactly 11 and a half hours after my first real contraction.

After naming our second Camden, we had tucked away the name Judah for the future. It's a name that has always meant a lot to us as the tribe of Israel from Judah is the lineage that Jesus' family came from. The name Judah means praise or praised.

It's easy to say having Judah join our family is the highlight of our 2022!
