Once we hit summer months, when the fruit is ripe and sweet, I just can't pass up making a fruit salad. Whether it's for breakfast or a healthy dessert, this grape salad is another fun and tasty option!

Why You'll Love this Recipe
This has become a favorite fruit salad recipe of mine. It's just sweet enough without being overpowering and the prep time is super minimal. A great recipe for so many reasons:
This recipe is elegant enough that it would be great to serve at baby showers or bridal shower brunches. Truly the perfect recipe for any and all special occasions.
While fresh berries are better in summertime and apples are better in the fall, you can make this fruit salad any time of the year. The sweet fruit combined with honey and yogurt will always be tasty!
You can easily adapt and adjust this recipe to include any fruit. Use loads of fresh fruit and make it anything that you want it to be.

Ingredients
This easy breakfast has wonderful healthy ingredients. You can grab everything you need at your local grocery store. Here's what to add to your shopping list:
Honeycrisp apple: Honestly, any crisp apple will work.
Diced fresh strawberries and fresh blueberries are the best choice, but the fruit salad will taste fine with frozen berries if need be.
I like to include seedless grapes, but you can omit them if you want, or swap them out for bananas instead.
For the base of the breakfast fruit salad, I like to use either plain or vanilla Greek yogurt. It's rich and has more protein than regular yogurt, but you can use regular if you prefer it.
Honey adds some sweetness, but if your fruit is fresh and in season, you may not need or want any additional sweetener. Feel free to swap the honey for maple syrup, agave syrup or another healthier sweetener option.
Variations
If you want to change up the flavor a bit, then use a flavored yogurt. Strawberry, lime, and blueberry would all be tasty. You can also make a dairy free fruit salad by using a dairy-free yogurt option. Or, just make this fruit cocktail recipe.

Don't have limes to squeeze for lime juice? Then use lemon juice and lemon zest in its place.
How to Make Fruit Salad with Yogurt
- To start, prepare the fruit by washing all of it very well. Then, core the apples and slice or dice the other fruit.

- Next, you'll add the fruit to a large mixing bowl, then add the Greek yogurt, a little honey, some lime juice and lime zest.

- Once everything is in the bowl, it's just a simple step to combine the dressing ingredients together with the fruit. Be sure to taste the salad and add more honey if you think it needs it.

Make sure the fruit is fully coated in the simple Greek yogurt dressing.
Add additional berries to the top for a nice garnish, as well as some fresh mint leaves. Serve and enjoy!

Storing Leftovers
Transfer leftovers into an airtight container and keep them in the fridge for no longer than 3 days. Fruit salad with yogurt doesn't freeze well. Keep in mind that the longer this is stored, the more liquid it will accumulate. So, I recommend just making it fresh if you'd like it to have the perfect texture!
Madison's Tips for Success:
I've tested this recipe and have successfully made it many times. Use my tips to ensure that it turns out perfectly for you, too!
- Avoid using fruit that has a high water content because it will make the fruit salad soggy. If you plan to use canned fruit, then make sure that you thoroughly drain the juices or water before mixing it into the salad.
- Make sure to dice all of the fruit into bite sized chunks that are even in size. That way, every bite is the same and the fruit isn't too big to chew!
- If you like cold fruit salad, either chill the fruit overnight, or make the salad before you go to bed. It'll be perfectly chilled in time for breakfast!

FAQs
If you end up with mushy fruit salad, you may have prepared it too early or you also could have used overripe fruit. Make sure that your fruit is ripe so that it is sweet, but not mushy because that will make the texture weird.
Specifically for this recipe, the lime juice will keep the apples from turning brown. However, lime juice also provides a tangy flavor that pairs wonderfully with the fruit and cuts through the creamy Greek yogurt.
