I've said it before, I'm totally in shock that it's even December. However, now that it?is finally the most wonderful time of the year, I'm so excited for all of the festivities! Christmas parties, gift exchanges, traveling to see family, all of it is just so much fun.

I have a confession, y'all. I'm not a huge cookie person. I'll wait while you recover from fainting... It's not that I don't like cookies, it's just that I like cake, brownies and ice cream more. So I never think to choose cookies as a dessert. However, I think I married a distant cousin of the Cookie Monster, because Steven loves them. So I've had to get over my obsession with cake every once in a while to make cookies for the hubby.
When I first made these cookies, I fell in love a little. Not being a cookie person, it's always exciting (and dangerous) when I find a cookie that I really enjoy eating. These festive M&M cookies are one of those dangerously yummy cookies. And, they're super easy to make, too! These are perfect for any holiday because you can find colored M&M's to match whatever holiday is approaching and make them with those!

This is totally weird/random, but these cookies remind me of a cookie my sister and I used to LOVE at a local grocery store when we were growing up. My mother would always swing by the bakery first thing into our shopping trip, and we'd each get to pick out a cookie... and I always chose one like this. But I haven't had one since I was around 10.
Now that you've made these, I definitely want to give them a shot in my own kitchen. And while it pains me that you're not the BIGGEST cookie fan, I get it. I generally choose cake/pie over a cookie, but I feel like cookies are just so appropriate and delicious for this time of year that they have to be made and enjoyed. So I'm glad you and Steven were able to enjoy some of these!
Thanks so much for being a part of Christmas Cookie Week this year, girl!

I kind of feel like part of the problem I have with cookies is just that they're never overly satisfying, like no matter how many I eat, I could always have another. With cake, I can definitely hit a good stopping point!
I hope you'll try them and that they bring back memories for you!

Mmmmm! M&M's are one of my favorite ingredients to put in desserts, whether it's cookies or a McFlurry. I need to try your recipe!
Madison says
Oh McFlurries. I wanted one for dessert SO badly last night!

Ohh, LG loves M&M's so I will have to remember this recipe! I'm not a huge cookie fan either...the only cookies I really love are chocolate chip but other than that not so much. I like the sweet/salty treats. I think my favorite treat is rice Krispy treats!
Madison says
Yes you should totally make these!! I'm glad i'm not the only one who's not a huge fan! Dang, I haven't had a Krispy treat in years! Yum!

Honestly, there are very few cookies that I dislike. There are several types of Christmas cookies that my husband's family makes.. Traditional Scandinavian cookies, and they are beautiful! He loves butter cookies the most. In my family Christmas brings more pies and candies than cookies, and my favorites are peanut butter balls & haystacks.
Madison says
Those all sound so good!! Maybe I've just only ever had boring cookies and I just need to branch out:)

Well, these sound simple but really tasty! My new favorite thing to make is a cookie pie with M&Ms... even simpler, which is handy in the busy holiday season π But my all-time favorite for the holidays is of course decorated sugar cookies!
Madison says
They are definitely so simple! And you're right, when you don't have a ton of time, simple is the way to go!
