The Best Kitchen Tools & Supplies

Published: Aug 2, 2016 · Last Updated: Aug 2, 2016 · Post by Madison Wetherill

One of my favorite things over the years has been building my kitchen toolbox. I can get lost in a Sur la Table, William Sonoma or Bed Bath and Beyond for hours, just looking at the different tools and gadgets for a kitchen. Since we've been living with my parents, I have a totally new appreciation for some of my favorite kitchen tools, some of which I haven't been able to use and have realized how much I love using them.

If you're learning to cook or are an experienced home cook, these tools are essential to a well-rounded kitchen toolbox. Here's my list of the best kitchen tools!

The top kitchen tools from a foodie! The tools I use on a DAILY basis in my kitchen. Perfect list for a wedding registry or Christmas gift guide!

KitchenAid Stand Mixer

I think if I had to choose one kitchen tool that I couldn't live without it's this one. You totally?can live without one, but c'mon, they're just the greatest. Luckily, I was given this one and didn't have to purchase it, but I'm telling you, I would in a heartbeat. The ability to be handsfree when mixing ingredient is SO helpful when I'm juggling multiple tasks or recipes (in addition to a little one).

Favorite accessories: Flex Edge Beater, Wire Wisk, Dough Hook, Pasta Roller

These Chocolate Chip Pudding Cookies have a special ingredient that makes these the BEST chocolate chip cookies ever! Adding vanilla pudding mix to the batter for these cookies gives these cookies a chewy center and crisp edges.?

Food Processor

This is another one of my favorite all-purpose tools. You can use it for everything from making homemade pesto to making homemade pie crust. It's so versatile and I love how compact it is!

Switch up your normal dinner routine and give this pistachio dijon mustard chicken a try! You'll be surprised when your whole family can enjoy it. Even if you aren't a huge fan of pistachios or mustard usually (I wasn't either), I bet you'll like this combination! This fancy breaded chicken is baked in the oven so you can focus on the other parts of your dinner while it bakes.

This peach raspberry crisp is the perfect summer dessert! It's light and fresh and perfect when served with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream. The crumble topping is so easy to make and really pulls the entire dish together. You'll love making this light fruity treat!

Make these homemade doggie treats this summer for your pet! These sweet potato and banana pupsicles are the perfect treat to beat the summer heat.

Citrus Spout Juicer

I'm usually a pretty big proponent of not having tools that only do one thing, but this juicer is one of my exceptions to the rule. It's SO handy and it's not a huge tool that takes up a lot of space. It's THE most efficient way to juice an orange that I've seen!

This citrus berry spinach salad is loaded with ingredients like pistachios, cranberries, goat cheese, oranges and blackberries and it's perfect for a summer salad!

Orange Juice Fresh Fruit Salad is a twist on a classic fruit salad. It's perfect for serving for brunch, showers, or just as a healthy side dish for dinner! Perfect to customize with whatever fruit you have on hand, too!?

Meat Thermometer

I never really used a meat thermometer until recently. I used to just guess at when meat was cooked completely, but that usually resulted in overcooking the meat and making it super dry. Especially for grilling, this meat thermometer is the best!

Pork Filet Citrus & Quinoa Salad

Dough Blender and Cutter

Another tool I lived far too long without. I love using a food processor for cutting butter into dough BUT I also love the satisfaction of digging a dough blended into butter and flour and watching dough come alive! This can use used for recipes like crisps, making dough, biscuits or even for cutting pieces of boiled eggs for egg salad!

Tongs

I loooove using tons for various things while cooking. These are more of "inside" tongs, but I always use them for serving things like asparagus, green beans, etc. They're also great for cooking things on a frying pan that need to be gently or methodically flipped over like cubed or sliced chicken breast. They're perfect for serving things hot out of the oven like spring rolls, too!

"Grilling" Pan

Ironically enough, this is a pan my mom hates to use but I would use it for almost anything. I love "grilling" chicken or veggies on it and it's the PERFECT bacon pan! If you have trouble cleaning it, you can use these!

These bacon breakfast scramble bowls are the perfect way to start the weekend! Customize these bowls with your favorite breakfast protein, veggies, and toppings like cheese, green chile or salsa. Or keep them simple with potatoes, eggs and bacon! Either way, these breakfast bowls are sure to be a hit with your family.
