There's no denying it's summer time here in Phoenix and it's hot, y'all. Just as much as we enjoy a cold drink or frozen drink to cool off, our pups do too. To celebrate the release of The Secret Life of Pets, I've made these simple, two and three ingredient pupsicles that are perfect for summer! Your pup will love these sweet potato and banana pupsicles!
One of our dog Azi's favorite things in the world is peanut butter. It's hilarious to us that we can be on the other side of the room and she is dead asleep, but will immediately perk up when she hears a peanut butter jar being opened. When she was a puppy, we used to stuff her Kong toys with peanut butter and that's where it all began. We have all done the peanut butter trick where we put peanut butter on the roof of a dog's mouth, right?
Well, these fun pupsicles make it so easy to give your pup peanut butter without having to deal with the stickiness of giving it to them on a Kong or with your finger. I have so much fun making homemade doggie treats, even if Azi could care less whether her treats are store bought or homemade 😉
Ironically enough, this was my first time making purees since Greyson doesn't actually eat purees at all! The best part about these treats though- they're totally human friendly! I actually ended up saving some of the mix to give to Greyson at dinner time and he loved it!
These treats are perfect for this summer heat that we are experiencing in Phoenix. The treats cool down the dogs while giving them a nutritious snack. You could make a bunch of different versions of these treats because the base is just a simple non-fat, no sugar added, greek yogurt. If you want to use veggies, make sure they are cooked, but otherwise, it's as easy as just blending up the ingredients in a food processor.

You have the cutest ideas. Kirby is the same way about peanut butter. Anytime I eat anything with peanut butter I have to give him some because otherwise I get the eyes of WHY ARE YOU DEPRIVING ME? Hahah. He's literally licking at his Kong right now. I have to make these for him! π
Madison Wetherill says
Hahah! Oh he and Azi would be best friends (duh!). He will LOVE these. You could even skip the banana if you wanted to for a more full peanut butter flavor π

This is way better than a toddler eating dog food, which is how our son and our dog shared meals when our son was younger π
Madison Wetherill says
Oh man!!! I hope you got photos of that π

Yes! If they have another flavor they always love you can totally use that too!
