A few weekends ago, my mom and I headed to Tucson to attend her best friend’s daughter-in-law’s baby shower. My mom went down early to help set up and I brought Greyson down the day of the shower to take photos. Attending a little girl baby shower was totally different than my fall themed baby shower for Greyson, but super fun nonetheless. I kind of think people have more fun at girl baby showers because there is plenty of oohing and awing over all of the adorable outfits, blankets and accessories.
This pink and tulle baby girl shower was so precious!
One of the things that the hosts did for decorations ended up being a big life saver. They used tulle to wrap all kinds of things that were a part of the house decor, but didn’t fit the theme of the shower. This helped to cover up bowls or serving dishes that weren’t pink or festive, without having to purchase anything new!?
I also loved this tulle baby shower skirt that they used. It was apparently also used at Kristen’s bridal shower as well. Whenever possible, I love to reuse decor from another event. It makes it so much easier than having to re-buy the same things over and over again. I also couldn’t get over how gorgeous the flowers were throughout the house. For a?girl baby shower, it was the perfect way to decorate!
Of course, like any shower, food is so important. Especially when you have a pregnant mama-to-be, food is essential. They were stocked with sweets, so I was happy! But there was also some really good savory food like frittatas, a chopped summer salad, croissants, and an adorable baby carriage fruit display (that everyone was afraid to dig into and eat!).
In lieu of cards, everyone brought a book signed for the sweet baby. Kristen is an avid reader and you could tell she was dying to dig into the books while she was opening gifts. That little girl will definitely be a reader like her mama!
It’s a good thing it was a pre-baby shower because Greyson sure stole the attention of a lot of the ladies who attended the shower. Luckily all the pink, frills and tulle didn’t seem to bother him terribly. It was such a fun celebration of the sweet mama-to-be. She got tons of awesome, practical gifts which I always love to see. As a new mom, it’s so hard to buy others gifts because I want to share my knowledge of the baby products I have loved, but I also want to make sure the mama-to-be gets the things she wants from her registry. I think she got a good mix of fun stuff (like outfits) and practical things (like books and bathtubs)!
Overall it was such a lovely shower to celebrate Kristen and her baby girl! It was also perfect Tucson weather and a great way to enjoy the spring season- since we don’t have much left of it here in Arizona!
