Y’all, I could just about squeal with excitement. If you’ve made it here, then you know the news!?The Wetherills Say I Do?is now officially?A Joyfully Mad Kitchen.?
This has been in the works for?over a year, if you can believe it.
I can still vividly remember the conversation I had with Steven when I first decided I wanted to launch a food blog. Originally, I thought the blog would be a new blog, separate from WSID, but as time went on, I found myself being drawn more and more to recipe posts. When I would sit down to draft out post ideas, over and over I had so many recipe ideas and very little else as far as content went.
Over and over, my heart was drawn towards sharing easy recipes.
You see, when we got married almost four years ago, the most I cooked was a box of mac and cheese on the stove. I wasn’t afraid of cooking, I had just never needed to do it much. I went from living with at home with my parents, to being on a college campus with a meal plan, and then I was suddenly thrown into married life and suddenly needing to answer the ever important question of what’s for dinner.
The true heart behind this blog is my desire to share easy recipes and to help you learn to love cooking. Cooking won’t always turn out perfect, you may make some messes along the way, but that’s all a part of the joy in learning to cook. Trust me, things get a little?mad when I’m in the kitchen and I usually leave a few messes behind in the process. Sometimes if I don’t make a mess, I’m not sure it was truly a good meal.
The second theme you’ll find on A Joyfully Mad Kitchen is a?heart for hospitality.?The Lord has really blessed me with a heart that loves to cook meals and serve others in that way. I love opening my home to friends or family, but I know that’s not always easy for everyone. I’ve seen family members and friends stress out to the point of tears over needing everything to be perfect for their guests’ arrival. When we get caught up in perfection, hospitality doesn’t work. It doesn’t serve the purpose it should. So my hope is that through my posts, you’ll learn to open the doors to your home more freely and with?less stress!
Feel free to poke around this site and leave a comment telling me what you think! I can’t wait to dig deeper into this new blogging journey with you.
Be sure to also subscribe to stay updated! I’m finishing up an exciting hospitality guide that will help you host guests without the stress and I’ll also be sharing two meal guides for hosting friends or family in your home.
Thank you for being here! I’m so excited to be on this journey to stress free hospitality and joyful cooking with you.?
