The last two times we have moved, we have run into some issues once we got to our new place. Even moving just a few miles away when we bought our house, we some how managed to pack all of our essentials. So we were left without some pretty necessary things.?Having those "oops" moments inspired me to create the perfect moving survival kit! My favorite part of this kit is the newest product from Softsoap, their affordable Liquid Foaming Hand Wash. Soap is a definite must in the midst of a move with dirt, dust and tape all over the place.

Moving can be stressful, make it easier with this DIY moving kit that includes all the essentials you will need at your new home! #ad #FoamSensations #CollectiveBias

In the midst of moving, it's difficult to remember to leave out certain supplies. Even if you plan to leave important supplies out, in the rush of getting the last boxes onto the moving truck, you'll likely throw all of the supplies into the truck without realizing it.

Moving can be stressful, make it easier with this DIY moving kit that includes all the essentials you will need at your new home!
If you know someone who is moving soon, you can set up this survival kit and drop it off at their new home- they'll be grateful that you did! Here are a few of my must haves and a few fun other options to include:

  • Softsoap liquid foaming hand soap in three varieties: Kitchen Citrus Bliss for the kitchen, Jasmine & White Cotton for the laundry room, and Whipped Cocoa Butter for an entry way/guest bathroom
  • Disinfecting Wipes, because you never know what mess the last owners left behind
  • Tissues, Toilet Paper and Paper Towels
  • Sponges
  • Trash bags, this was a huge one for us! Having these handy is so important for throwing away boxes, tape and trash as you're unpacking. There often isn't enough time to declutter before moving, so during the unpacking stage there is a lot to throw out

Other ideas for a survival kit:

  • Restaurant gift cards- in the first few days of being in a new house, cooking will not be easy or likely, with so many things in boxes
  • Snacks and water bottles
  • Candles to make the new place cozy

Moving can be stressful, make it easier with this DIY moving kit that includes all the essentials you will need at your new home!

If you don't have someone to bring you a lovely survival kit, you can definitely create your own, just be sure to put it in it's own box and to either bring it to the house first or to put it in the front seat of your car so that you don't lose the supplies!

As someone who just moved, I can definitely say that this is a great idea! The bathrooms and kitchen were the two things we focused on getting set up first, so soap is a great idea. The restaurant gift cards (or homemade meals) would be a huge blessing too because we did not have much in the way of food left when we moved in because we were trying to move as little food as possible. And when it comes to the choice of cooking or unpacking... unpacking usually wins. lol.

I'm so glad you think it's a good idea! ๐Ÿ™‚ I think giftcards are so awesome! The last thing you want to do is cook or spend money on going out so it's perfect!

What a wonderful idea! It's easy to forget the simple things, but having them makes a huge difference. Soap, Kleenex, wipes, paper products and trash bags are ALWAYS the first things I buy when moving. My family always makes a warm meal for new neighbors or friends who've recently moved. Sharing our Southern hospitality is something we love doing.

What a great idea! My problem during my last move was taking all of the trash bags to the new place too early--we only had one bag left for all of the trash when we were cleaning the old place! Whoops. Lesson learned. ๐Ÿ™‚

This is such a smart idea! Make one for me when I move! ๐Ÿ˜‰ It's hard to remember to leave certain things like soap out until last. Having a few essentials in a basket like this would be so helpful!

Love this idea! I definitely needed this when I moved in December, I didn't feel like unpacking boxes for weeks. I would probably add a 6 pack of beer or a bottle of wine to this list, so we could relax after a long day of moving at our new home!

What a great idea! I've moved quite a few times in my lifetime and I thought I had everything down pat. Those restaurant cards are ideal. Who has time or the want-to to cook while moving? Moving is a dirty job and Softsoap would certainly come in handy. I'm going to remember this one!

This is a GREAT idea, Madison! We managed to leave forget to leave out almost all of those things last time we moved and it was such a pain to have to run to the store to pick up the essentials we packed away. Our neighbors just closed on a house yesterday, so they'll be moving soon?I'm definitely going to put one of these together for them!

When I helped my best friend move I helped by running to the store to get these things! So I definitely get that they are easily left behind.

I've moved several times in the last few years and one thing I like to do is gather up all my hotel shampoos, soaps, lotions, toothpaste (assuming you collect those like I do) and use these while I'm in the process of unpacking or purchasing permanent items.
