If you know a new mom who could use an encouragement to take some “me” time, this DIY Mama Bear Coffee Mug Gift is the perfect way to encourage her to take a little quiet time for herself with a mug full of coffee and OREO?Thins!
I remember when it sunk in that I wasn’t prioritizing me time enough after Greyson was born. When he was little(r), he fed on demand, which was pretty much round the clock, and only wanted to be held by me. During the first few newborn weeks and months, I didn’t mind at all. I wanted to soak up the newborn snuggles because I knew they’d be over soon enough.
Then one day, I stared at my un-pedicured feet for a little too long and had a cabin fever moment. I needed to break out. I needed to get away for a few minutes and just be “me” again. It was the weirdest sensation being truly by myself and I remember thinking “No one knows I’m a mom right now.” Without my kid in tow, I didn’t have anything tying me to the fact that I was a mom.
Ever since that first moment away, I’ve realized how important my “me” time is. Whether it’s a few minutes taking a shower, a walk to the mailbox without Greyson, or even a drive by myself to get Chick-fil-a for lunch, the little moments for “me” have become so much more important than any other time in my life.
These “me” time moments don’t always involve me getting out of the house. Sometimes they just involve curling up with a blanket, my phone, and a snack. I am kind of obsessed with OREO Thins lately because they’re just the perfect amount of cookie to get you by. I’ve never been one to really branch out from my normal OREOs but I was so pleasantly surprised by how much I liked these new OREO Thins.
My favorite is still the classic chocolate flavor but I also tried lemon and vanilla and both are so good! I added them to little baggies to go with these DIY Mama Bear Coffee Mugs that I designed for myself and some of my close mama friends. I hope this little gift will help encourage my mom friends to take a break for themselves while enjoying OREO Thins.
I made these?mugs using my Silhouette machine and some gold vinyl. They are so easy to make. The first time I did a vinyl project, I thought it would be so difficult. I realized that these projects are actually SO easy. The setting up of my machine almost takes longer than actually making the mugs, in fact!
These mugs would be the perfect gift for a mom friend who could use a little encouragement, a new mom, or anyone who could use some encouraging to make a little “me” time. You can swap out the design as needed. I designed this myself, but it’s easy to find designs in the Silhouette Design Store or to design your own.
More Silhouette projects!
I was able to find everything I needed (except the nail polish) to make these mug gifts at our local Fry’s store. Find your local Kroger brand store here.

Ok, that mug is seriously adorable! I want one! Thanks for sharing this post, friend. I know that I will need to remember to make time to have a little “me time” every so often after baby is here.

It’s definitely a challenge as a new mom! But I think it’s a good lesson to learn. I’ve had times where I just look at Steven and I’m like I need some me time soon. It’s tough caring for a little one 24/7!

I love the mama bear cut-out! And now that Aiden’s hitting 6 months I’m feeling the same need of “omg I need to go be anonymous somewhere where no one knows I’m a mom” haha

I tell people all the time that it is SUCH a weird feeling to go out in public and realize, no one knows I’m a mom.
