Cheesy Ranch French Bread makes a perfect pre-dinner appetizer! It's great for a crowd or just for your family while dinner finishes cooking. Made with homemade ranch dressing, this french bread is packed with fresh ingredients and will make the wait for dinner much more enjoyable.
When I'm cooking dinner, I?love snacking on something. I'm usually hungry by the time we start on dinner, so in order to survive the short amount of time it takes to make dinner, I've gotta munch on something. When I'm thinking ahead, I'll plan an appetizer that I can make before I get started on dinner so that I have a delicious snack. This takes away all the stress when we have company over, too. This way I don't worry as much about other people being hungry while they wait for dinner, too. It's a win, win!
This Cheesy Ranch French Bread was inspired after I made my homemade ranch dressing and needed to come up with a way to use it. This Quick Garlic Cheese Bread is one of our favorite appetizers before dinner, so I wondered what it would be like to adjust that recipe to include the ranch dressing. ?We were all a huge fan of the results!
The great thing about this bread appetizer is it's super quick to make because it really only needs to cook as long as it takes the cheese to melt. Which means you can throw it together and in the oven and by the time you have all of your ingredients out and ready to make dinner, your snack is ready!
If you don't have your own homemade ranch dressing on hand, you can definitely use a store bought version, but I can guarantee it won't quite be the same as the homemade version. I love how fresh the ranch dressing looks because of it's green color on the bread!
The bread is topped with shredded white cheddar cheese, but you could also use mozzarella or another favorite shredded cheese blend. That's the beauty of simple appetizers like this one, they can be customized a million ways. Once you get comfortable with making it one way, switch it up and add a few new ingredients to see what happens.
One of the ways I quickly fell in love with cooking is by experimenting with dishes to see what worked and what didn't. The best part is, sometimes you don't even ruin a dish, you just realize some ingredients don't pair as well as others. And that's totally okay!
What does pair well though is this ranch dressing and cheese. What doesn't pair well with cheese though?
